I've been looking for a manual car for a few months now and settled on an LW series Ford Focus Sport as they seemed reasonably sporty, had some interesting features, and I didn't mind the way they looked.
I did plan to spend a bit more money on a car this time than I usually do and get something in good condition with low mileage so that it would last a while.
After looking at a few cars and a few failed offers I somehow ended up with an LW series one in black with high mileage. I wanted a series two as I prefer the wheels, bodykit and extra features, and I didn't want black, but the lure of a cheap car close to home somehow won me over.
I also prefer to have unmodified cars but this one has an exhaust, the wheels have been painted black, and it has a few tacky "aero" parts stuck on with double-sided tape.
Despite the mileage -- somewhere over 260,000km and unknown due to an instrument cluster change -- it actually drives well and is in reasonably good condition compared to some of the other cars I saw for sale.
First tasks are to find a stock exhaust and either replace or repaint the wheels. Removing the tacky add-ons is also a priority.
