My Cars

I had been looking for a V40 for a while and really wanted a phase one turbo manual. Somehow I ended up with this phase two non-turbo automatic that I purchased sight-unseen.

I bought this car in July 2020 real cheap because it has a lot of problems. I'm hoping to tidy it up and get it running well and use it as my daily driver.

We bought this 2000 model Mercedes-Benz C200T for $3,400 in 2015. It had travelled around 220,000km. It's white with 5-speed automatic transmission and black leather interior, including built-in child booster seats which my son likes.

I bought this 4-door auto 318is in 2012 for my wife for $500! It was sold in 2015.

I bought this supercharged Avus Blue manual 318is in 2013 with 190,000km on the clock and still own it today. [Sold September 2020]

I had a strange desire to get an early E36 325i as I love E36s, the sound of the M50 engine, and they are available in 4-door and manual. I bought this one sight unseen from interstate in 2013 and had it delivered.

My second motorcycle, bought to try and improve my 90 minute commute to work.

This is my 1994 BMW 318is coupe with M42 engine. I bought it in September 2007 with just under 160,000km. I sold it in 2012.

I bought this Japanese-import Celica in 2007. It had a small amount of rust and a cracked cylinder head. It didn't last long with me.

We bought this scooter for my wife to learn on. From memory it was about $1,500.

This is my second E30 318is. My first one was red and I had owned it for several years, from 135,000km to 290,000km. I sold it and bought a different car but missed the little lightweight 318is enough to sell my new car and buy another 318is in 2004.

Back in 2003 I was shopping for an E36 325i manual coupe and not having much luck finding a good one. Somehow I ended up with this black 3.0-litre M3. I paid $35,000 for it and sold it just 6 months later for $39,000.
1991 Holden Commodore S

An automatic V6 Commodore appealed after driving a friend's VN Commodore. I bought this S Pack automatic Commodore from a private seller in 1995. It was blue and I kept it for about a year.

My first motorcycle – a 250cc four-cylinder sports bike.

My first BMW of many. I bought this 1990 BMW 318is from a dealer on Sydney's Northern Beaches in 1996. It was around $17,000 (Australian Dollars). At the time it had travelled about 135,000 km and I sold it around 5 years later for about $7,500.

I always wanted a Porsche so thought "why not" and bought this 1983 5-speed manual model in 1994 for low-mid $30k less my MR2 as trade-in. I kept it for about 18 months.

I bought this blue MR2 back in 1992 from a dealer and traded my Celica in on it. I think the asking price was $23,500.

After owning a few automatic cars, I wanted to get my first manual. I was reading four-cylinder and rotary car magazines at the time and originally wanted a Ford Escort but ended up with a Mazda RX4. It was white, and cost me $4,700 from memory.
1986 Toyota Celica SX

I found this Celica at a local dealer, quite cheap but with higher than average mileage. I think it was around $17,000 back in 1991 and I traded in my Honda Prelude. My Celica was red and automatic. I kept it for about 18 months.

A silver Honda Prelude with Hondamatic transmission (3 speed gearbox, torque converter, but doesn't change gears on its own). I think it was for sale for about $11,000 at a dealer and I traded my VC Commodore on on it. Owned from 1990 to 1991.

My first car. It was a 4 cylinder automatic, possibly an L model, and beige in colour. I think I paid about $5,500 for it at the time in 1989. I kept it for about a year until 1990.
