How to remove trim piece from Volvo V50 rear doors?

Is the circled part on the back door easy to replace or am I best repainting the current one? How do they come off?

In responses to the same question on Facebook, I was told that it is screwed in place from behind but can be tricky to keep it in its original shape when removed.
